How to Footnote (Using the University of Chicago of Style)

In the University of Chicago style, there are two ways to cite material such as quotes, facts, or ideas that are not yours:

  • at the bottom of each page as a footnote.

  • as a separate list at the end of the essay entitled endnotes.

The Rockridge Social Studies Department requires you to footnote.

NoodleBib is recommended because not only will it help you to produce a properly formatted bibliography, but it will also let you annotate as well. See your teacher for creating an account.
